Cross-City North (1) : Lichfield Trent Valley
This week's theme will be the Northern half of the Cross-City from Lichfield to Birmingham New Street. Starting at the Northern terminus at Lichfield Trent Valley where 323 220 prepares to head back down the line.

Type 3s (4) : Bagpipes
Another preserved Class 33, this one is 33 103 seen at Wirksworth. From the 33/1 sub-class which, due to the control pipes situated on the cab front, were known as Bagpipes by enthusiasts.

The diesel-hydraulic Class 35 is one Type 3 that has long left mainline service though a few have survived scrapping like D7076 seen here at Kidderminster.

Type 3s (2) : Crompton
Once the mainstay of Southern Region now only a handful are in main line use though many Class 33s, known as Cromptons, have been preserved. Such as 33 035 seen here at Kidderminster.

Type 3s (1) : Tractor
A week of photos of the Type 3 diesel locomotives (which had engines rated between 1,500 and 1,999hp) that have served with British Rail. The Class 37, known as Tractors by some enthusiasts, was the most successful Type 3 and a good number still serve on national rails today. DRS 37 601 is seen here at Crewe with some newer motive power.
