On loan

To help out due to the late arrival of the Class 196 into service, some East Midlands Railway Class 170s were loaned to WMR. 170 506 is seen at Shrewsbury. Livery is EMR but with WMR stickers.

Collected 172

The small Class 172 fleets operated by London Overground and Chiltern Railways have now been transferred to join the rest of the class in WMR service. 172 101 is seen at Olton after transfer but before re-livery. 

Class 730

The Class 323s and some 350 are being replaced by the new Class 730. 730 005 is seen on test at Crewe.

Regional Railways

The Cross City Line stalwarts, the Class 323 are being replaced after 30 years of service. To celebrate their service 323 221 has repainted in the original Centro Regional Railways (or closely anyway). It is seen at Chester Road.

Class 196

This week's theme is the changing face of West Midlands Railway rolling stock, starting with the new Class 196 which entered service in late 2022. 196 107 is seen at Shrewsbury.
