Type 1s (1) : Derby

This week's theme is the Type 1 classification of locomotive, which in British Rail days meant locomotives with up to 1000hp of power. The only successful Type 1 was the Class 20 which still survives on National Rail metals. Starting with 20 314 at Derby.

The two trains usually used by the Southend Pier Railway are push-pull rakes with a locomotive at the pier end and a driving trailer at the shore end as seen here.
