HST (5) : New Measurement Train

Returning to Derby to show 43 013, one of the HST power cars now in Network Rail service. Here it leads the New Measurement Train through the station.

As with Paddington London Kings Cross has been another stronghold for the HST since inception. 43 296 seen here in current Virgin Trains East Coast livery.

Paddington is still the home of the HST as it has been since their introduction into service. 43 002 has been repainted by GWR into the original BR livery. This scene looks straight out of the late 70s though was taken at the end of 2016.

This week's photographs will celebrate the iconic High Speed Train, arguably the train that saved British Rail in the late 1970s... Their career will begin winding down soon though will still be around on the network for a good few years to come.
