Derwent Valley (5) : Matlock onwards

Matlock is now the terminus of the Derwent Valley Line however you can continue up to Rowsley South on the Peak Rail! Preserved Class 44 D8 prepares to head off.

Derwent Valley (4) : Cromford

Like several stations along the line Cromford retains much of its original features though mostly in use by private companies, the building on the left is holiday accommodation. The old ticket hall to the right an office.

Derwent Valley (3) : Whatstandwell

EMT 153 302 pulls into Whatstandwell, the lovely old footbridge gives access to the Cromford Canal.

Derwent Valley (2) : Ambergate

Ambergate was once a triangular station but is now a single platform, it is the first station after the Derwent Valley Line diverges from the Midland Main Line.

Derwent Valley (1) : Duffield

A series of photos along the Derwent Valley Line between Derby and Matlock. The first stop after Derby is Duffield which is also where you can catch the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. Here Derby Lightweight Railcar Iris waits at Duffield (EVR).

Preserved 2-HAP 4311 at the Electric Railway Museum.

You can still see plenty of Network South East signs around the rail network, even as far North as Warwickshire. But here is lovely NSE branding at Moorgate.

The preserved Class 487 Waterloo & City car was repainted into Network SE livery (which it wore at the end of its career) last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of NSE.
